And this is the opinion of a Fish and Chip nut to the level of when I went to Seattle for a 3-day weekend, my 'sole' (pun intended) mission was to find the best Fish and chip in Seattle (wife and I sampled Fish and Chips from 11 different places in Seattle that weekend).
None of those come even close to Cook's.
Get the Captain's order - three large pieces of perfectly battered juicy hunks of Alaskan halibut with big meaty steak fries.
This is the best Fish n' Chips I've had outside england. This place has been in business for around 80 years, and has been a family favorite for my husband's family for generations. Somehow they make these giant nuggets of halibut into the most beautiful golden bite of non-greasy goodness. Halibut is the best of the menu!
We try to go once a month with a group from work, but it's a bit far. Also great as a fish market, or for a hearty bread bowl full of clam chowder.
There's a reason Cook's Seafood has been around for almost 80 years. They have the best fish and chips in the Bay Area. Halibut and Chips are my favorite thing to order. I switch orders between local and Alaskan.
Best fish and chips in the US! The quality of the fish used is outstanding. Many stores use lesser quality fish, knowing that the batter will hide it. Not here! Order the 3-piece meal with a beer, and you can't go wrong.
Absolute best fish and chips! I crave them for lunch daily!.
Best place in the Bay Area for fish and chips. Been going here for years and it's very consistent. It's rare to find a place that is 100% good. This place is! Generous portions, but I would recommend requesting and extra tartar sauce right off the bat.
Location is pretty good and the atmosphere is pretty straight-forward, comfortable, but nothing special. Service is excellent. I highly recommend it!
This place is GREAT! Good tasting fish and is super fresh. The Halibut and Prawns are wonderful. You definitely get what you paid for!
